These days I just whip up anything which takes minimal time. I’m so busy organizing and getting things done around the house before my in-laws arrive. My husband said I should not worry about cooking. He will take care of it. And NO of course he’s not going to cook. I wonder if he knows how to fry an egg. I’m sure he’s reading this and probably will try to prove to me that he does know how to fry an egg. We are not suppose to ‘lol’ on blogs, right?
Anyhow, his solution is to get food from restaurants. Well, he strongly believes it saves time. And I agree if I don’t have to worry about dinner I can seriously get lots of stuff done. I appreciate his point of view. But what can a girl do when she can’t resist cooking. You have to agree that home food tastes much better than takeout. Oh GOD, I can’t believe I’m saying this, few years ago I would’ve disagreed.
Sooo to keep it easy peasy I served these kebabs with salad. Next time, I will make tzatziki dip to go along with it. InshaAllah!
Thank you all for your patience, in reading my rant.
For the recipe:
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, finely grated
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste or 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- salt to taste
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 egg
- 1 cup bread crumbs (I used panko)
- add 2-3 tbsp of yogurt (if you are planning to bake them), optional
In a large bowl mix everything together.
Shape the kebabs.
Fry the kebabs in vegetable oil.
If you are going to bake them preheat your oven to 400 F.
Place the kebabs on greased tray.
Bake them for 10 minutes, turn the kebabs and bake for another 10 minutes.
is was my least favorite snack.
It was probably the last thing I would eat if I can’t find anything to munch on.
I usually find popcorn to be bland and tasteless and it leaves me thirsty. I guess it might be different if you air pop the corn instead of using packets, which contains a lot of butter? Maybe.
Well today, something changed. It’s not as dramatic as it sounds. Ha-Ha. We have tons of Oreo’s at home and small carton of butter popcorn packages. I decided to combine the two since I was really hungry after work-out. I usually like drinking smoothie or eating homemade larabars as a post-workout snack, but today was different. I got this sudden urge to crush some Oreos and mix it with popcorn. I followed my desire to do so and to be honest I didn’t really feel guilty about eating it. It was so delicious.
I think I kinda sorta changed my mind about popcorn being my least favorite snack. I mean anything with chocolate and oreo’s is simply scrumptious. I’m afraid I might get addicted to this unhealthy snack.
If you never had oreo popcorn before, you must try it. Especially if you love Oreo’s.
I believe this will be great for parties, game nights, or casual get-together with family and friends. Just triple the recipe to serve the crowd.
You will need:
- 1 bag of popcorn, popped according to directions
- 10 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 6 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate, melted
Pop the popcorn in microwave, making sure not to burn them.
Finely crush the oreos in a food processor.
Melt chocolate in microwave proof bowl for a minute.
Drizzle melted chocolate on popcorn and then add crushed oreos.
Mix with spatula until the oreos and chocolate are well mixed with popcorn.
Last but not least ENJOY!
