is was my least favorite snack.
It was probably the last thing I would eat if I can’t find anything to munch on.
I usually find popcorn to be bland and tasteless and it leaves me thirsty. I guess it might be different if you air pop the corn instead of using packets, which contains a lot of butter? Maybe.
Well today, something changed. It’s not as dramatic as it sounds. Ha-Ha. We have tons of Oreo’s at home and small carton of butter popcorn packages. I decided to combine the two since I was really hungry after work-out. I usually like drinking smoothie or eating homemade larabars as a post-workout snack, but today was different. I got this sudden urge to crush some Oreos and mix it with popcorn. I followed my desire to do so and to be honest I didn’t really feel guilty about eating it. It was so delicious.
I think I kinda sorta changed my mind about popcorn being my least favorite snack. I mean anything with chocolate and oreo’s is simply scrumptious. I’m afraid I might get addicted to this unhealthy snack.
If you never had oreo popcorn before, you must try it. Especially if you love Oreo’s.
I believe this will be great for parties, game nights, or casual get-together with family and friends. Just triple the recipe to serve the crowd.
You will need:
- 1 bag of popcorn, popped according to directions
- 10 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 6 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate, melted
Pop the popcorn in microwave, making sure not to burn them.
Finely crush the oreos in a food processor.
Melt chocolate in microwave proof bowl for a minute.
Drizzle melted chocolate on popcorn and then add crushed oreos.
Mix with spatula until the oreos and chocolate are well mixed with popcorn.
